  • Honorable judges, dear fellow students, distinguished guests
考试中可以简化为“Good morning, everyone”或“Dear fellow students”。

How many of you have ever felt overwhelmed by the pressure of choosing a career?
A recent survey shows that 70% of college students worry about their future.
Last month, I met a friend who had just switched her major for the third time.

I believe that we should embrace uncertainty rather than fear it.”

> Good morning, fellow students. Have you ever stayed up late scrolling through social media, only to feel more anxious afterward? Today, I want to argue that we need to reclaim our attention from digital distractions.

First of all, / To begin with, / What‘s more, |
This is because... / The reason lies in... |
For instance, / Just imagine, / Take...as an example |

> First, social media creates a false sense of connection. When we scroll through perfectly curated posts, we compare our real lives with others‘ highlights. A study found that people who use Instagram for more than two hours a day report significantly lower self-esteem. This is not real connection; it’s a digital illusion.

  • After looking at the problem, let‘s turn to the solution.
  • But is there a way out? Absolutely.
  • Now, you might ask, what can we do individually?

In conclusion, my speech is about...”

So next time you feel the urge to check your phone, pause. Look up. Talk to the person next to you.”

Technology is a tool, not a master. Let us use it, not be used by it.”

I challenge each of you today: put your phone away for one hour. Read a book. Take a walk. Talk to a friend. You will feel the difference.”

  • 不要说“That‘s all, thank you”作为结尾(太草率)

It is of great significance for us to consider the detrimental effects of excessive screen time.
We need to ask ourselves: is all that screen time really good for us?

用“we”“us”“you”把听众拉进来。

例如:“Imagine you have an important exam tomorrow. What do you do? Most of us would stay up late cramming. But research shows that sleep is more effective than last-minute review.”

Social media has made people less connected in real life. Do you agree?

开场白
> Dear fellow students, think about the last time you had dinner with friends. Did you spend more time talking to them or scrolling through your phone? Today, I want to convince you that social media is stealing our real-life connections.

> First, social media replaces face-to-face interaction with shallow likes and comments. A virtual “like” takes one second, but a real conversation takes effort. When we rely on online validation, we forget how to read body language, how to listen, and how to be truly present.

> But why do we fall into this trap? Because social media platforms are designed to be addictive. Every notification triggers a dopamine hit. The more we scroll, the more we crave. We are caught in a cycle that leaves us feeling empty but unable to stop.

> So what can we do? Start small. Put your phone in another room during meals. Set a daily screen time limit. And most importantly, schedule regular meetups with friends without any digital distractions. You will be surprised how much richer those conversations become.

结尾
> Social media is not evil, but it should be a servant, not a master. I invite you to try one thing today: when you meet someone, look them in the eye, not at your screen. That small change can bring us back to what truly matters. Thank you.
